Lord Rama is the seventh incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu. It is said that Lord Rama was born on earth to annihilate the evil forces of the time. He always has a bow and arrow indicating that he is ready to destroy the evils. It is also called “Rama”. He is most often represented in a family style (Ram Parivar) with his wife Sita, his brother Lakshman and the devout Hanuman sitting at the feet of Lord Rama. Lord Rama is also known as Purushottama, which means the best of men or the ultimate personality of Purusa).
He is one of the most revered Hindu gods and is known as the ideal man and the hero of the Ramayana epic. He is known by many names as Raghava, Koshlendra, Ramachandra, Ramabhadra, etc., but his eternal and most superior name is the most divine: ‘Ram’.
