Lord Narasimha is an incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu to save his devotee Prahalada from the clutches of his demon father, Hiranyakashipu. Lord Narasimha (Man-Leo) is the fourth incarnation among the ten greatest incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The birth of Lord Narasimha is celebrated with faith and joy on the fourteenth day of the bright half-month of Vaishakha. There are innumerable temples throughout the world where Lord Narasimha is worshiped in various forms, such as Ugra-Narasimha, Yoga-Narasimha and Lakshmi-Narasimha.
