nīḷa tuṁga stanagiritatī suptamudbōdhya kr̥snaṁ
parardhyaṁ svaṁ śr̥tiśataśirassiddhamadhyapayantī ।
svōcchistayaṁ sraji nigaḷitaṁ ya balatkr̥tya bhuṅktē
gōda tasyai nama idamidaṁ bhūya ēvastu bhūyaḥ ॥

[** anna vayal puduvai yandaḷ
araṁgarku pannu tiruppavaip pal padiyam,
inni śaiyal padikkoduttaḷ naṟpamalai
pūmalai śūdikkoduttaḷaic col
śūdikkodutta śudarkodiyē
tol-pavai padiyaruḷavalla palvaḷaiyay,
nadi nī vēṁgadavaṟkennai vidi yen-ṟa vimmaṟṟam
naṁ kadava vannamē nal-gu.

margaḷi*t tiṅgaḷ madiniṟainda nannaḷal,
nīradap pōduvīr pōduminō nēriḷai*yīr,
śīr mal-gum ay-padic celvac ciṟumīrgaḷ,
kūr vēl kodundoḷi*lan nandagōpan kumaran,
ērar-nda kanni yaśōdai yiḷañ-śiṅgam,
kar-mēnic ceṅgan kadir madiyam pōl mugattan,
narayananē namakkē paṟai taruvan,
parōr pugaḷa*p padindu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 1 ॥

vaiyattu vaḷ*vīr-gaḷ namum nam pavaikku,
śeyyum kiriśaigaḷ kēḷīrō,
paṟ-kadaluḷ paiyat tuyin-ṟa paramanadi padi,
neyyunnōm palunnōm natkalē nīradi,
maiyitteḷu*dōm malarittu nam mudiyōm,
śeyyadana śeyyōm tīkkuṟaḷai cen-ṟōdōm,
aiyamum piccaiyum andanaiyum kai katti,
uyyumaṟu enni ugandu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 2 ॥

ōṅgi ulagaḷanda uttaman pēr padi,
naṅgaḷ nam pavaikkuc caṟṟi nīradinal,
tīṅgin-ṟi nadellam tiṅgaḷ mummari pey-du,
ōṅgu peruñ cennel ūdu kayal ugaḷa,
pūṅguvaḷaip pōdil poṟi vandu kanpaduppa,
tēṅgadē pukkirundu śīr-tta mulai paṟṟi vaṅga,
kudam niṟaikkum vaḷḷal perum paśukkaḷ,
nīṅgada śelvam niṟaindu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 3 ॥

aḷi* maḷai*k kanna on-ṟu nī kai karavēl,
aḷi*yuḷ pukku mugandu kodartēṟi,
ūḷi* mudalvan uruvam bōl mey kaṟuttu,
paḷi*yan dōḷudaip paṟbanaban kaiyil,
aḷi* pōl minni valamburi pōl nin-ṟu adir-ndu,
taḷa*dē śar-ṅgam udaitta śaramaḷai* pōl,
vaḷa* ulaginil pey-diday,
naṅgaḷum margaḷi* nīrada magiḷ*ndu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 4 ॥

mayanai mannu vadamadurai maindanai,
tūya perunīr yamunait tuṟaivanai,
ayar kulattinil tōn-ṟum ani viḷakkai,
tayaik kudal viḷakkam śey-da damōdaranai,
tūyōmay vandu nam tūmalar tūvit toḷu*tu,
vayinal padi manattinal śindikka,
pōya piḷai*yum pugudaruvan nin-ṟanavum,
tīyinil tūśaguṁ śeppu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 5 ॥

puḷḷum śilambina kan puḷḷaraiyan kōyilil,
veḷḷai viḷiśaṅgin pēraravam kēttilaiyō,
piḷḷay eḷu*ndiray pēy-mulai nañjundu,
kaḷḷac cagadam kalak kaḷi*yak kalōcci,
veḷḷat taravil tuyil amar-nda vittinai,
uḷḷattuk kondu munivar-gaḷum yōgigaḷum,
meḷḷa eḷu*ndu ariyen-ṟa pēraravam,
uḷḷaṁ pugundu kuḷir-ndu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 6 ॥

kīśu kīśen-ṟu eṅguṁ anaic cattan,
kalandu pēśina pēccaravam kēttilaiyō pēy-p pennē,
kaśum piṟappum kalagalappak kaipēr-ttu,
vaśa naṟuṅkuḷa*l ay-cciyar,
mattinal ōśai padutta tayiraravaṁ kēttilaiyō,
nayagap pen piḷḷay narayanan mūr-tti,
kēśavanaip padavum nī kēttē kidattiyō,
tēśamudaiyay tiṟu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 7 ॥

kīḷ*vanam veḷḷen-ṟu erumai śiṟu vīdu,
mēy-van parandana kan mikkuḷḷa piḷḷaigaḷum,
pōvan pōgin-ṟaraip pōgamal kattu,
unnaik kūvuvan vandu nin-ṟōm,
kōdukalamudaiya pavay eḷu*ndiray padip paṟai kondu,
mavay piḷandanai mallarai mattiya,
dēvadi dēvanaic cen-ṟu nam śēvittal,
avaven-ṟu aray-ndu aruḷ ēl ōr embavay ॥ 8 ॥

tūmani madattuc cuṟṟum viḷakkeriya,
dūpaṁ kamaḷa* tuyil anai mēl kan vaḷarum,
maman magaḷē manikkadavam taḷ tiṟavay,
mamīr avaḷai eḷuppīrō,
un -magaḷ tan ūmaiyō? an-ṟic cevidō? anandalō,
ēmap perunduyil mandirap pattaḷō?,
mamayan madavan vaikundan en-ṟen-ṟu,
namam palavum navin-ṟu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 9 ॥

nōṟṟuc cuvar-ggam pugugin-ṟa ammanay,
maṟṟamum tararō vaśal tiṟavadar,
naṟṟat tuḷa*ymudi narayanan,
nammal pōṟṟap paṟai tarum punniyanal,
pandu oru naḷ kūṟṟattin vay vīḷ*nda kumbakarananum,
tōṟṟum unakkē perunduyil tan tandanō?,
aṟṟa anandaludaiyay aruṅgalamē,
tēṟṟamay vandu tiṟa ēl ōr embavay ॥ 10 ॥

kaṟṟuk kaṟavaik kanaṅgaḷ pala kaṟandu,
śeṟṟar tiṟal aḷi*yac cen-ṟu śeruc ceyyum,
kuṟṟam on-ṟillada kōvalar tam poṟ-kodiyē,
puṟṟaraval-gul punamayilē pōdaray,
śuṟṟattu tōḷi*mar ellarum vandu,
nin muṟṟam pugundu mugil vannan pēr pada,
śiṟṟadē pēśadē śelvap pendatti,
nī eṟṟukku uṟaṅgum poruḷ ēl ōr embavay ॥ 11 ॥

kanaittiḷaṅgaṟṟerumai kan-ṟuk kiṟaṅgi,
ninaittu mulai vaḷi*yē nin-ṟu pal śōra,
nanaittillam śēṟakkum naṟcelvan taṅgay,
panittalai vīḷa* nin vaśaṟ kadai paṟṟi,
śinattinal tennilaṅgaik kōmanaic ceṟṟa,
manattukku iniyanaip padavum nī vay tiṟavay,
inittan eḷu*ndiray īdenna pēruṟakkam,
anaittu illattaruṁ aṟindu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 12 ॥

puḷḷin vay kīndanaip polla arakkanai
kiḷḷik kaḷaindanaik kīr-ttimai padippōy,
piḷḷaigaḷ ellarum pavaik kaḷaṁ pukkar,
veḷḷi eḷu*ndu viyaḷa*m uṟaṅgiṟṟu,
puḷḷum śilambina kan! pōdu arikkanninay,
kuḷḷak kuḷirak kudaindu nīradadē,
paḷḷik kidattiyō pavay! nī nannaḷal,
kaḷḷam tavir-ndu kalandu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 13 ॥

uṅgaḷ puḷai*kkadait tōttattu vaviyuḷ,
śeṅgaḷu* nīr vay negiḷ*ndu ambal vay kūmbina kan,
śeṅgal podik kūṟai ven-pal tavattavar,
taṅgaḷ tirukkōyil śaṅgiduvan pōdandar
eṅgaḷai munnam eḷu*ppuvan vay pēśum,
naṅgay eḷu*ndiray nanaday navudaiyay,
śaṅgodu śakkaraṁ ēndum tadakkaiyan,
paṅkayak kannanaip padu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 14 ॥

ellē! iḷaṅkiḷiyē innam uṟaṅgudiyō,
śillen-ṟu aḷai*yēn min naṅgaimīr pōdarugin-ṟēn,
vallai un katturaigaḷ pandē un vay aṟidum,
vallīr-gaḷ nīṅgaḷē nanē dan ayiduga,
ollai nī pōday unakku enna vēṟu udaiyai,
ellarum pōndarō? pōndar pōndu ennik koḷ,
vallanai kon-ṟanai maṟṟarai maṟṟaḷi*kka vallanai,
mayanai padu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 15 ॥

nayakanay ninṟa nanda gōpan udaiya kōyil kappanē,
kodit tōn-ṟum tōrana vayil kappanē,
manikkadavaṁ taḷ tiṟavay,
ayar śiṟumiyarōmukku,
aṟaipaṟai mayan mani vannan nennalē vay nēr-ndan,
tūyōmay vandōm tuyil eḷa*p paduvan,
vayal munnamunnam maṟṟadē amma,
nī nēya nilaik kadavam nīkku ēl ōr embavay ॥ 16 ॥

ambaramē tannīrē śōṟē aṟañ śeyyum,
emberuman nandagōpala eḷu*ndiray,

ambaram ūdu aṟuttu ōṅgi ulagaḷanda,
umbar kōmanē! uṟaṅgadu eḷu*ndiray,

umbiyum nīyum uṟaṅgēl ōr embavay ॥ 17 ॥

undu mada gaḷiṟṟan ōdada tōḷ valiyan,
nandagōpalan marumagaḷē! nappinnay!,
gandam kamaḷu*m kuḷa*lī kadaitiṟavay,
vandu eṅguṁ kōḷi* aḷai*ttana kan,
madavi pandal mēl pal-kal kuyil inaṅgaḷ kūvina kan,
pandar virali un maittunan pēr pada,
śendamaraik kaiyal śīrar vaḷaiyolippa,
vandu tiṟavay magiḷ*ndu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 18 ॥

kuttu viḷakkeriyak kōttukkal kattil mēl,
metten-ṟa pañca śayanattin mēlēṟi,
kottu alar pūṅguḷa*l nappinnai koṅgaimēl,
vaittuk kidanda malar mar-ba vay tiṟavay,
maittadaṅ kanninay nīyun manaḷanai,
ettanai pōdum tuyil eḷa* ottay kan,
ettanaiyēlum pirivaṟṟa gillaiyal,
tattuvam an-ṟu tagavu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 19 ॥

muppattu mūvar amarar-kku mun cen-ṟu,
kappam tavir-kkuṁ kaliyē tuyileḷa*y,
śeppamudaiyay tiṟaludaiyay,
śeṟṟar-kku veppam kodukkum vimala tuyileḷa*y,
śeppanna menmulai cevvayi ciṟumaruṅgul,
nappinnai naṅgay tiruvē tuyileḷa*y,
ukkamum tattoḷiyum tandun manaḷanai,
ippōdē emmai nīrattu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 20 ॥

ēṟṟa kalaṅgaḷ edir-poṅgi mīdaḷippa,
maṟṟadē pal śoriyum vaḷḷal perum paśukkaḷ,
aṟṟap padaittan maganē aṟivuṟay,
ūṟṟamudaiyay periyay,
ulaginil tōṟṟamay nin-ṟa śudarē tuyileḷa*y,
maṟṟar unakku valitolaindu un vaśaṟkan,
aṟṟadu vandu un adi paniyumapōlē,
pōṟṟiyam vandōm pugaḷ*ndu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 21 ॥

aṅgan ma ñalattu araśar,
abhimana bhaṅgamay vandu nin paḷḷik kattiṟkīḷē*,
śaṅgamiruppar pōl vandu talaippey-dōm,
kiṅkini vay-c cey-da tamaraip pūppōlē,
śeṅgan śiṟuc ciṟidē emmēl viḷi*yavō,
tiṅgaḷum adittiyanum eḷu*ndaṟpōl,
aṅgan iranduṅkondu eṅgaḷ mēl nōkkudiyēl,
eṅgaḷ mēl śapam iḷi*ndu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 22 ॥

marimalai muḷai*ñjil mannik kidandu uṟaṅgum,
śīriya śiṅgaṁ aṟivuṟṟut tīviḷi*ttu,
vēri mayir-ppoṅga eppadum pēr-ndu udaṟi,
mūri nimir-ndu muḷa*ṅgip puṟappattu,
pōdaruma pōlē nī pūvaip pūvanna,
un kōyil nin-ṟu iṅganē pōndaruḷi,
kōppudaiya śīriya śiṅgaśanattu irundu,
yam vanda kariyam aray-ndu aruḷ ēl ōr embavay ॥ 23 ॥

an-ṟu ivvulagaṁ aḷanday adipōṟṟi,

ñalattaiyellam naduṅga muralvana,
palanna vannattu un pañcajanniyamē,
pōlvana śaṅgaṅgaḷ pōy-ppadu udaiyanavē,
śalapperum baṟaiyē pallandu iśaipparē,
kōla viḷakkē kodiyē vitanamē,
alin ilaiyay aruḷ ēl ōr embavay ॥ 26 ॥

kūdarai vellum śīr gōvinda,
un tannai padi paṟai kondu yam peṟu śammanam,
nadu pugaḷum pariśinal nan-ṟaga,
śūdagamē tōḷ vaḷaiyē tōdē śevippūvē,
padagamē en-ṟanaiya pal-galanum yam anivōm,
adai uduppōm adan pinnē paṟ-śōṟu,
mūda ney pey-du muḷa*ṅgai vaḷi*vara,
kūdiyirundu kuḷir-ndu ēl ōr embavay ॥ 27 ॥

kaṟavaigaḷ pinśen-ṟu kanam śēr-ndu unbōm,
aṟivon-ṟum illada ay-kkulattu,
untannai piṟavi perundanaip punniyam yam udaiyōm,
kuṟai on-ṟum illada gōvinda,
un tannōdu uṟavēl namakku iṅgu oḷi*kka oḷi*yadu,
aṟiyada piḷḷaigaḷōm anbinal,
un tannai śiṟupēr aḷai*ttanavum śīṟi aruḷadē,
iṟaiva! nī taray paṟai ēl ōr embavay ॥ 28 ॥

śiṟṟañ śiṟu kalē vandunnai śēvittu,
un pōṟṟamarai adiyē pōṟṟum poruḷ kēḷay,
peṟṟam mēy-ttu unnuṁ kulattil piṟandu,
nī kuṟṟēval eṅgaḷai kōḷḷamal pōgadu,

anipuduvai paiṅgamalat tan-teriyal pattar biran kōdai śonna,
śaṅgat tamiḷ* malai muppadum tappamē,
iṅgip pariśuṟaippar īrirandu mal varait tōḷ,
śeṅgan tirumugattuc celvat tirumalal,
