॥ Sati Panchakam Meaning ॥
I revere Bhavani, Who is Sati among Sati women, Who is worthy of respect from sambhu, Who is shining in the great centers of cosmic power (Mahasaktipitha) with splendor from different organs, Who bestows the light of bliss, knowledge, dispassion and devotion, Who is auspicious, and Who is the primordial power.
I revere the daughter of Daksa, Who in old times was the deed, reason and cause for the destruction of sacrifice done by Daksa, Who is flagrant due to the affection-stream coming from siva, Whose organs are all auspicious, Who bestows desired wish to those saluting Her, and Who is the consort of isa (siva).
I revere siva, Who since old times has been giving a stream of motherly affection and love to living-beings which are stopped by immense-darkness like intoxication and desire while engrossed in bad deeds, Who is divine Mother, and Who is adored by devotees.
O Goddess! Not in the past, not in the future and not in the current time, not in this world, not in the other world and not anywhere else is there anything comparable to Your merciful glance. I revere the universal Mother, Who nourishes everyone.
I think that the temple of siva is a home for Her son. O siva, Who has a face full of light! May You give me a home, till eternity, at the doorstep of this home (temple). I revere Sati, Who is sparking in the various centers of cosmic power (saktipitha).
