srikancipuravasinim bhagavatim sricakramadhye sthitam
kalyanim kamaniyacarumakutam kausumbhavastranvitam ।
srivanisacipujitanghriyugalam carusmitam suprabham
kamakksim karunamayim bhagavatim vande param devatam ॥ 1 ॥
Meaning:
I extol Kamakshi, Who is a dweller of Srikancipuram, Who is venerable, Who is situated in the middle of Sricakra, Who is a benefactor, Whose crest is beautiful and enticing, Who is decked by saffron attire, Whose twin feet are worshipped by Laksmi, Sarasvati and Saci, Whose smile is enticing, Whose radiance is beautiful, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Para, and Who is (my) Istadevata.
malamauktikakandharam sasimukhim sambhupriyam sundarim
sarvanim saracapamanditakaram sitamsubimbananam ।
vinaganavinodakelirasikam vidyutprabhabhasuram
kamaksim karunamayim bhagavatim vande param devatam ॥ 2 ॥
Meaning:
I extol Kamakshi, Whose shoulders have a necklace of pearls, Who is moon-faced, Who is dear to Sambhu, Who is beautiful, Who is Sarvani, Whose hands are adorned with a bow and an arrow, Whose face is round like the cold-rayed moon, Who is a relisher of songs sung with lute (vina), Who is resplendent like lightning, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Para, and Who is (my) Istadevata.
syamam carunitambinim gurubhujam candravatamsam sivam
sarvalingitanilacaruvapusim santam pravaladharam ।
balam balatamalakantiruciram balarkabimbojjvalam
kamaksim karunamayim bhagavatim vande param devatam ॥ 3 ॥
Meaning:
I extol Kamakshi, Who is of dark complexion, Whose hips are beautiful, Whose arms are long (or strong), Whose forehead has the moon, Who is Siva, Whose beautiful bluish form is embraced by Sarva (Siva), Who is tranquil, Whose lips are like a new flower, Who is Bala, Who is pleasing with radiance similar to a young Tamala plant, Whose lips are bright like a young (rising) sun, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Para, and Who is (my) Istadevata.
lilakalpitajivakotinivaham cidrupinim sankarim
brahmanim bhavarogatapasamanim bhavyatmikam sasvatim ।
devim madhavasodarim subhakarim pancaksarim pavanim
kamaksim karunamayim bhagavatim vande param devatam ॥ 4 ॥
Meaning:
I extol Kamakshi, Who by Lila has created millions of beings, Who is cidrūpini (the Brahman), Who is Sankari (or does welfare of everyone), Who is Brahmani, Who is the destroyer of disease of metempsychosis, Who is grand, Who is endless (eternal), Who is the Goddess and sister of Madhava, Who is a doer of auspicious, Who is pure and five-syllabled, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Para, and Who is (my) Istadevata.
vamam varijalocanam hariharabrahmendrasampujitam
karunyamrtavarsinim gunamayim katyayanim cinmayim ।
devim sumbhanisudinim bhagavatim kamesvarim devatam
kamaksim karunamayim bhagavatim vande param devatam ॥ 5 ॥
Meaning:
I extol Kamakshi, Who is Vama, Whose eyes are like lotus, Who is completely worshipped by Hari, Hara, Brahma and Indra, Who is the giver of the nectar of compassion, Who is present in all qualities, Who is Katyayani (Durga), Who is the essential Brahman, Who is noble, Who is the killer of Sumbha, Who is divine, Who is Kameśvari, Who is divinity, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Para, and Who is (my) Istadevata.
kantam kancanaratnabhusitagalam saubhagyamuktipradam
kaumarim tripurantakapranayinim kadambinim candikam ।
devim sankarahrtsarojanilayam sarvaghahantrim subham
kamaksim karunamayim bhagavatim vande param devatam ॥ 6 ॥
Meaning:
I extol Kamakshi, Who is beautiful, Whose neck is decorated with gold and jewels, Who is a giver of good fortune and liberation, Who is Kaumari, Who is the consort of Siva (finisher of Tripurasura), Whose complexion is like a line of clouds, Who is Candika, Who is the Goddess residing in the lotus-heart of Sankara, Who is the destroyer of all faults, Who is blissful, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Para, and Who is (my) Istadevata.
santam cancalacarunetrayugalam sailendrakanyam sivam
varahim danujantakim trinayanim sarvatmikam madhavim ।
saumyam sindhusutam sarojavadanam vagdevatamambikam
kamaksim karunamayim bhagavatim vande param devatam ॥ 7 ॥
Meaning:
I extol Kamakshi, Who is tranquil, Whose two eyes are beautiful and unsteady, Who is the daughter of Himalaya (king of mountains), Who is Siva, Who is Varahi, Who is the ender of demons, Who has three eyes, Who is essentially in everything, Who is Madhavi, Who is placid, Who is the daughter of the ocean, Whose face is like lotus, Who is the controller of speech, Who is Ambika, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Para, and Who is (my) Istadevata.
candrarkanalalocanam gurukucam saundaryacandrodayam
vidyam vindhyanivasinim puraharapranapriyam sundarim ।
mugdhasmerasamiksanena satatam sammohayantim sivam
kamaksim karunamayim bhagavatim vande param devatam ॥ 8 ॥
Meaning:
I extol Kamakshi, Whose three eyes are the sun, the moon and the fire, Whose breasts are full, Who is the mountain from which the moon-like beauty rises, Who is knowledge, Who is a dweller of Mount Vindhya, Who is dear like life to the absolver of Pura, Who is beautiful, Who is continuously enticing Siva by a beautiful and smiling gaze, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Para, and Who is (my) Istadevata.
